New Bedlington dancewear store is top of the cops
An old police station in Northumberland is being put to good use - selling dance wear items
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 29, 2011 --
From hobnail boots to hosiery and dance bags – a Northumberland mum has set up a dancewear business inside an old police station.
But Nicola Conroy’s choice of business premises isn’t as odd as it sounds, because Bedlington’s former cop shop and magistrates court is now one of the area’s premier dance rehearsal venues.
Head2Toe supplies dance wear which is often difficult to find except on the internet.

Starting up in business seemed such an obvious thing to do. I talked to the people running dance classes here and they were really supportive. I open up my shop at the same time the dance classes are running and I’m also developing a pre-loved section where people can trade in quality used items,” she said.
Nicola had only worked in admin before deciding to go into business with her husband Simon. The business of setting up business was made much less daunting thanks to the expert help of Ashington-based business start up support organisation Go Wansbeck.
Go Wansbeck’s Enterprise coach Graeme Trotter not only helped her crunch the numbers and get start-up funding, he also provided specialist business skills, such as marketing.
“Nicola’s business idea has got real dance legs and I hope she quick steps up to the next level. Dance is a growing market for youngsters and people who just enjoy keeping fit to music, but there was a definite need for a dancewear store in Bedlington where clothes can be tried on. Nicola’s idea is to expand her outlets and opening times to include other dance venues. She should do well,” he said.
