New Birth and Bishop Eddie Longs Efforts, working or not??

In an effortto promote our Rise Up & Serve initiative, we are making available Rise Up & Serve T-shirts . We would love for you to wear these T-shirts when you are out serving and to take pictures, videos and upload them to our Rise Up & Serve Facebook page.

Bishop has charged us with going outside the four walls of the church to serve our community. If each of us serves a minimum 2.5 hours per month through the end of year, we will corporately complete 150,000 service hours!!! What a way to show the love of Christ to our neighbors.

In addition to the goal of 150,000 service hours, we have two other goals:

120,000 souls saved

120,000 guests invited to New Birth

That’s only 2 souls and 2 guests per month per person!

Parents, this is a great opportunity to not only serve others but to teach your children about serving others. And, your children’s service hours will count as well!!!

It’s as easy as 1..2..3…

1. IDENTIFY… a local organization or service opportunity in the area you live or work. Contact them to find out how to get plugged in and RISE UP & SERVE. Here in Atlanta, we have partnered with Hands on Atlanta. To search for volunteer opportunities in the Atlanta area, please visitwww.HandsOnAtlanta.org (of course, you may also serve by helping a neighbor in need).

Following are the benefits of registering with Hands On Atlanta:

a. You can search for volunteer opportunities by your availability, interests, where you live, etc.

b. Once you identify a service opportunity you are interested in, Hands On Atlanta will confirm your participation, send you directions, and contact information for that service opportunity.

c. You can monitor your service hours via Hands On Atlanta’s website.

2. TRACK….keep TRACK of the number of hours served, souls saved, and guests invited each week.

SUBMIT….a tracking card online by clicking here. You may also complete a card at the church. Ushers and Greeters will have them available and you can place them in the offering basket.

We will keep you posted on the number of hours we have completed each month.
