New Career Development Service for Area Women Springs Forward

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 1, 2010 -- Wilmington, DE – December 1, 2010 – Springboard Careers, Inc., a local career development service for women launched on September 15, 2010. Springboard is the area’s only company dedicated exclusively to helping professional women reenter the workforce after long employment gaps.

Springboard was co-founded by Julia D. MacWilliams and Erin F. Sicuranza to address the needs of a specific niche market that has been under-served in the area of career development. Their current services include an online database that enables women to complete a free online professional profile searchable by area employers. They also have an online job board meant to cater to this specific demographic. They plan to offer a wide variety of employment options: e.g., part- and full-time, project-based, flex-time, and job sharing. Additional services focus on job search preparation: résumé and cover letter writing, career-life counseling, and image consulting are available. New services, such as technology training and networking events, will be added soon.
"We’re long overdue for such a service," says Ms. MacWilliams. "Women have been inundated with marketing initiatives geared toward child development and family entertainment, yet there has been a lack of focus on their own professionalism. To celebrate the launch of the new business, Springboard is offering free 45-day single job postings to area companies and hiring professionals through the month of October. According to Ms. Sicuranza, “We’re equally excited to be offering a new tool in the human resources field that is designed to be cost effective and to offer easier access to a talented, untapped labor resource.”
