EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK:

The Gluey Glubber isn't one of the better looking monsters. With a long slobbery tongue, a nose to match, and huge, bulbous eyes, it isn't very attractive. Worse still, it blobs in at almost fourteen foot tall and fourteen foot wide. Believe me, when I tell you, that's a whole lot of blob.

Toby and Jessie gaped at the gruesome monster, unable to take their eyes from it, unsure whether to stay or run. It was difficult to imagine that only a moment ago, Harry was standing in that exact same spot and now a big, green blob with a long nose and drooling mouth sat in his place.
"Toby!" the creature rasped, its eyes big, wide and pleading. "I don't feel too good. You've got to help me."
Toby remained speechless. He didn't quite know what to say or do. He nodded slowly, trying to compose himself. "Yes, Erm, I can hear you. Is that you, Harry?"
"Of course it is," Harry snapped. "Who else would it be?"
"Well, you sound a bit different."
"Different?"

"Yeah, sort of like you've got a sore throat and you're trying to speak and swallow a mouthful of porridge at the same time."
"That's not funny, Toby." He clambered to his stumpy feet and folded his arms. "What's happened to me? I feel odd."
Toby felt Jessie clutch his hand. Normally he would shrug it away but this time he accepted it without thinking.
"Well..." he replied.
There was a moment of uncomfortable silence while Toby considered his next few words. "Well, it's not as bad as it could've been but, it's pretty bad."

Harry wiped the tip of his nose, flicking lumps of green gunge into the air. "Drats! Give it to me straight."
"Well, I don't quite know how to put this."
"I do," Jessie interrupted. "You've turned into a giant bogey!"
"Erm, that's about as straight as it gets," Toby agreed, yanking his hand away from Jessie. "You're definitely a Gluey Glubber."
Harry tipped his head forward and gazed at his monstrous form. He was, without doubt, a huge blob of sticky goo.
