New Dog Bakery in Medina Ohio
All natural dog treats are now available at a new dog bakery on the Square in Medina Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 23, 2011 --
One Lucky Dog Bakery now has a new shop on the Square in Medina Ohio to provide gourmet dog treats to all the hungry dogs in the area. Stacey Sutphen is the owner and baker and I asked her what makes a dog treat gourmet and why should I feed my dog these treats.
Stacey believes that in order for dogs to live a long and healthy life they need to get a lot of exercise and eat only healthy food. Stacey started reading the labels on dog food and dog treats and she got very concerned with what she saw. Most labels contain meat byproducts as the first ingredient indicating it is the largest component and who knows what goes into a meat byproduct. She also found high sugar content and many preservatives such as propylene glycol, which is used in antifreeze, or butylated hydroxyanisole or ethoxyquin, which are suspected of causing cancer. All of these ingredients should not be in the diet of your dog.
After seeing those labels Stacey starting experimenting on dog treats with the objectives being they should taste great, smell great, and of course must supply a health benefit to the dog. She also wanted the treats to be wheat, soy, and corn meal free because these are known to adversely affect a dog’s health and vitality. She ended up using brown rice flour, apples, natural peanut butter, blueberries, carrots, mackerel, sweet potato, white chicken, banana, flax, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, beets, peaches, and peas. The result was just what she wanted. She now sells gluten free dog treats and wheat free dog treats that her four dogs all love and like many of the dogs of her Customers, they always run to the kitchen when they hear the refrigerator opening. Stacey recommends that the treats be stored in an open container in the refrigerator. This extends the shelf life to over four weeks. Stacey’s Customers indicate that shelf life isn’t an issue, the problem is having enough treats on hand because the dogs just love treat time.
Stacey is always experimenting with new additions to her gourmet treats and the selection has grown from a list of 6 two years ago to 18 today. Just this month Stacey has added a giant bone treat that can be decorated for that special event for your dog. Just give her 24 hours notice, what treat your dog loves, and she will decorate the bone for the event. Drop her a note at sales@oneluckydogbakery.com, call her at 330-952-0900, or just stop in at 45 Public Square.
One issue with buying gourmet dog treats is the cost of the high quality ingredients drives the cost of the treats up. Stacey has kept the price as low as possible by making volume ingredients purchases and by giving the Customers who have made these treats the only one their dog eats a discount card. The card gives these Customers a 25% discount.
Stacey wanted to give her Customers other reasons than her great dog treats to come to her gourmet dog bakery. She has a super selection of dog collars, leashes, harnesses, and great dog toys. The designs are unique and are not what you will find at the big box pet store. She also stocks dog greeting cards and home and garden sculptures which have a dog theme. Kristine Stylski is a local artist who has placed her unique art in the store for your enjoyment and purchase.
In addition to the many events that the City of Medina holds at the town square Stacey has monthly events with dog breeders, dog adoption organizations, and dog owners with unusual breeds. You and your dog are always welcome at the Stacey’s gourmet dog bakery and of course there is a treat bucket for your dog to sample.
Stacey has four Scottish Deerhounds and Finn, who is the oldest and wisest, write a blog on the website. Finn has some great ideas on health and also some funny stories. I’m sure he would love to hear from you. Check the blog posts out at http://oneluckydogbakery.com/blog/rss.html .
Stacey is looking forward to seeing you and your dog and promises she will always live up to her business motto, “It’s all about the Dogs.” If you cannot make it to the store check out the website at www.oneluckydogbakery.com.
