New free app ‘Smelly Taxi’ poised to change the way cabs smell and drivers behave

Chicago, IL – August 11, 2011: Camden Ventures LLC, a Chicago-based technology consulting firm today announced the release of a new free app available in the Apple iTunes Store called ‘Smelly Taxi’. Smelly Taxi is a cab rating and feedback system where users rate cabs on three factors: Odor, Cleanliness, and Professionalism. Additionally, users can "love" or "hate" cabs, upload photos of themselves in the cab, and share their opinions and feedback on social networking sites like Facebook.

The Smelly Taxi app is extremely user friendly, featuring an interactive leader board section, where users can search and filter taxis from the worst smelling to the best smelling, the cleanest taxi to the filthiest, most professional to the least professional, and users can even sort by the most loved or most hated cab in any city or in the nation. Once enough cabs are rated, this surely will be a fun area of the application.

“Some cabs smell really awful, and these cabs need to be exposed,” says Ben Brandstrader of Smelly Taxi. “Living in Chicago for a while now, I’ve noticed that way too many cabs smell horrible. Yet there has never been a forum for taxi riders to voice their feedback, whether good or bad. Now, with the introduction of the Smelly Taxi app, we have solved the problem. Our goal was to make a simple, fun and free app that gives riders a platform to share their experience with fellow users, taxi drivers, and cab companies."

Perhaps most exciting aspect of the Smelly Taxi app is the taxi-related photo contests. These on-going contests challenge the users to locate and photograph certain taxis in a city-wide scavenger hunt. In honor of the launch of the Smelly Taxi app, we will be kicking off the contests right by offering $500 to the first person to take a picture (through their Smelly Taxi app) of Chicago Cabs 1 through 10.

Don’t worry Android users, Smelly Taxi for the Android is in development and will be released in a few months, with even more fun and engaging features like uploading videos and ordering taxis directly through the app.
