New Gap logo Infuriates Loyal Customers

For me, that is Gap. I virtually grow up with it with my brothers and sisters having them in their closets. I can fairly say that almost everyone is quite familiar with the brand. Perfect for casual wear and the best thing about it is that its price range is affordable for everyone. The recent Gap logo design though create stir among loyal customers and first time customers alike.

Though modifying and altering logo is inevitable for some companies, mainly because they want a makeover or they want to offer something new to the customers. A new logo design might entice or enrage loyal customers. Indeed it is risk and gamble that a certain brand is undertaking.

I’ve seen Gap’s new logo design last year, and I have to say that it has a more contemporary touch in it. But then suffice it to say, you can’t please anybody as what the adage says. And that is exactly what happened. It immediately created stir among its customers and Gap is considering changing their logo again.

Logo designer had an innate responsibility; and that is testing the waters first before finalizing certain designs. Though it is understandable that they are more equipped with knowledge when it comes to logo designing and it includes the appropriate and proper color combinations, font etc. But then all businesses being dependent to its customers for survival have to consider their client’s too. Business is nothing without its customers. Though customers really can do nothing about it, their views means a lot for a brand like Gap. The brand is constantly in the Fortune 500 companies, their success is indeed undeniable and part of that success is their customer’s support and patronage.

This is a clever move for Gap as it can be considered as publicity and at the same time it shows the brand’s commitment to please their customers.
