New Job Aggregator Allows Job Seekers To Apply Directly

Job aggregators are websites which gather job openings from around the internet and place them on one simple search engine.

Typically with job aggregators the job seeker follows the link to the original listing where they must register with the source site before being able to apply to a job. Zillion Jobs site designer Stan Mersuk claims this makes the process very difficult for the job seeker. "The typical applicant spends about 75% more time per job applications when using aggregators vs using single jobs. This makes job aggregators not worthwhile unless you are in a hard to find field. Aggregators have more job listings, but they are slow to use. The intention behind ZillionJobs is you can apply to a job no matter the source with one click."

The method that ZillionJobs claims on its website to bypass multiple registrations is by only listing positions which have direct contact information. For the moment ZillionJobs is free and Mersuk claims that there is no intention on making it a pay site. "We intend on generating our revenue by using premium jobs and also resume sourcing. A parsed, active resume in the right industry can be worth well over $1 each. There is no need to ever charge a job seeker for anything, that is small potatos in the industry and unfair to the unemployed."

In an economy where professionals often send over one hundred applications before finding a job, application time is valuable. Whether ZillionJobs lives up to thier premise remains to be seen.

The open beta period is expected to run until Feb 12th, 2012.
