New Love Songs 2011 - "One Love, One Year"

One Love, One Year features songs that both tell stories of individuals, from a portrait of a broken man in "Amphetamine" to an ode to a free-wheeling woman in "Wild Abandon," and venerate the human condition, from the terror of intimacy revealed in "Behind the Scenes" to the good old fashioned boy-needs-girl story of "I Want Love." It's a mix of songs that wanders through heavy emotional territory, but is kept out of gloomier terrain by the optimism of its writer. Trevor Harden has taken on the ambitious adventure of writing, recording and posting one new song a week for a year. The new love song project began Monday, November 1, 2010 and will run to November 1, 2011.

"Thematically I will be mining the heart to explore the many different facets of human love. I plan on taking each week to focus a microscope on 52 different angles - passion, romance, boredom, lust, brokenness, dysfunction... I suspect we're going to get into some interesting waters," says Harden.

These new love songs and 2011 project was probably most inspired by a rather painful situation; divorce. "Having gone through a divorce this past year, the cultural, psychological and spiritual concepts/realities of love are something I've been thinking a lot about. And because I know you can relate; you experience these things too. Just don't come around if you can't stand to have blood on your hands... this could get messy. Together let's see what we can uncover in this reconnaissance mission into the heart," Harden shares.
