Torie & Howard, the innovative specialty food brand committed to eco-friendly and socially conscious principles, has announced they will unveil a new line of organic hard candies at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and the New York International Gift Show this January. The company intends to raise the bar for organic snacks and treats with these satisfying sweets that taste of real, luscious fruit picked straight from the garden. The unique jewel-shaped candies will come in four sophisticated flavor combinations –Italian Tarocco Blood Orange & Wildflower Honey, Tart California Pomegranate & Sweet Freestone Nectarine, D’anjou Pear & Ceylon Cinnamon and Pink Grapefruit & Tupelo Honey.

Torie & Howard is the brainchild of famed Color Consultant, Torie Burke and Interior Design Guru and founder of iconic home fragrance brand Slatkin & Co., Howard Slatkin. In addition to their love of design, the adventurous duo share a passion for good food and unique flavors. Over the years this passion grew into a dream of one day starting their own specialty food company. Coincidentally, somewhere along the road each of them experienced a health related event that would have a profound impact on their lives. For Howard, losing more than 100 pounds lead to a renewed focus on eating as healthy and nutritionally conscious as possible. For Torie, it was the onset of severe food allergies that forced her to make serious changes in her life and her diet. These new restrictions made finding satisfying snacks all the more difficult, and all the more important.

With a new dedication to nutrition in their lives and the relative lack of healthy, indulgent snacks on the market, it became apparent that the time was right to fulfill their dream of starting their own snack food company. And so Torie & Howard was born, out of a mutual love of delicious foods that soothe the soul and nourish the body.

“We truly believe that food tastes better when it is made with organic, natural ingredients and responsible principles. All of our products are free of any preservatives, additives, artificial flavorings, chemicals or dyes,” says Torie & Howard co-founder, Torie Burke.

Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candies are available in four flavors in bulk and 2oz tins as well as an assorted flavor 6oz gift purse. All Torie & Howard products are USDA Organic and Kosher certified. A portion of the company’s profits will be donated to Wildlife Conservation Society and Autism Speaks.
