Accomplished Pediatric Dermatologist to head new Pediatric Dermatology Department at Greater Miami Skin and Laser Center in Miami Beach specialist in skin conditions of children, and adolescents.
Greater Miami Skin and Laser Center has implemented a new Pediatric Dermatology Section headed by award-winning Pediatric Dermatologist, Dr. Mercedes E. Gonzalez.
Dr. Gonzalez graduated from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey with honors including the David E. Ross Award for Compassionate Care. Dr. Gonzalez completed her pediatrics residency at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York Presbyterian Columbia University.
Afterwards Dr. Gonzalez returned to her hometown of Miami where she was a pediatric dermatology clinical research fellow at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and participated in trials investigating treatments for atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia areata, diaper dermatitis, moluscum, and epidermolysis bullosa.
The doctor then returned to New York University School of Medicine where she completed her dermatology residency and a pediatric dermatology fellowship at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology where she received honors for her fine work.
