New Project Management Courses Planned for Grand Cayman

Kevin Archbold is Consulting Manager at Key Consulting, which works with individuals and organizations to improve efficiencies through project management. Mr. Archbold says, “We are offering a range of courses to suit a variety of business needs.” He continues, “Our courses apply to every industry sector and we have something for every level of employee and management. Participants have found our previous sessions to be very beneficial so we are delighted to be conducting more courses in October to provide opportunities for people to enhance their project management capabilities.”

Key Consulting’s last series of courses took place at the new dms Learning and Development facility. Mrs. Tvedt-Pearson, a Project Coordinator with dms Organization Ltd., and steering committee member of the local Cayman Islands Project Management Institute potential chapter, recently earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification after attending one of Key’s courses. Mrs. Tvedt-Pearson said, “dms Organization employs over 160 people across a range of business disciplines. Professional project management is essential to our organization in order to ensure that activities in all our business areas remain aligned with our business goals. I thoroughly enjoyed the Key Consulting course. It was a great balance between exam prep and project management knowledge itself. It provided a great learning experience.”

Johnny Marcussen and Sacha Tibbetts of the Caribbean Utilities Company have both now passed the PMP certification exam following the most recent courses conducted in May. Passing the PMP exam is a major component of the formal certification process, along with satisfying a minimum practical experience requirement and an agreement to adhere to a professional code of conduct. Mr. Marcussen said, “I found my course to be both interesting and informative, with a good balance between theory and practical application”. He added, “Attending the course has provided me with tools and ideas to manage projects more efficiently and optimize the use of company resources.

October’s courses will include two different five day project management boot camps, preparing participants for certification as either a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). In addition Key Consulting will be offering a three day course on project management fundamentals and a two day course on using Microsoft Project.
