Jacksonville, Florida, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 14, 2011 -- www.RICKMULLANEYFORMAYOR.INFO is a site that gives all the political noise about RICK MULLANEY FOR MAYOR When he announced his candidacy for Mayor last week, Rick Mullaney, the City of Jacksonville's General Counsel, on www.RICKMULLANEYFORMAYOR.INFO told the Times-Union he would resign his post by the end of June.
Ron Littlepage has already written about what the timing means for Mullaney www.RICKMULLANEYFORMAYOR.INFO in regards to pension qualifications, but he's not the only one who might benefit from the exact date his resignation is announced.

According to Jacksonville's charter (see citation below), there is a selection committee composed of five attorneys, including two former general counsels (if possible), who select three candidates to pass to the Mayor for approval. The mayor chooses one and sends it to the City Council for approval. If, however, the opening occurs one year or less before the end of a mayoral term, the mayor skips the selection committee, chooses his own nominee to serve as acting general counsel and sends him to the City Council for approval. www.RICKMULLANEYFORMAYOR.INFO
Mayor Peyton's term expires June 30, 2011, which means if Mullaney www.RICKMULLANEYFORMAYOR.INFO waits until the last day of June to resign, Peyton can immediately choose his replacement, subject to the Council's approval.
