New Venture for Military Spouse Keeps Military Families in Touch

Your Yeoman was founded by Lori Clinton, a military spouse of 17 years (and counting) who was a military brat and who had been running On The Go Concierge, LLC, for almost four years. One day, while having lunch with a friend, she realized that there was a need for this service. The friend was upset that her deployed husband had forgotten her birthday.

At that moment, she knew that she could help with the problem. “I wanted to do something specifically for deployed service members. My goal was to make things a little easier for them while helping to keep their relationships stronger during deployments. I pride myself on understanding what those family members experience while a loved one is off defending our country. So I was excited to develop my new division, Your Yeoman, a unique service for people that we really care about.”
Your Yeoman is a concierge service designed exclusively for deployed service members. The service includes reasonably priced designed packages. Also included are the shopping and mailing of cards and gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, special events and “just because” moments; date reminder service; monthly care packages; post office boxes; emergency contacts; bill-pay service and weekly apartment or home check-in service.

When creating Your Yeoman Mrs. Clinton had a difficult time identifying the military charity to which she would donate a portion of the earnings. Ultimately, she decided to put the choice in the hands of service members. “I wanted to make sure that the service member would actually see the return on their investment, so their commands, MWR or FRG programs seemed to make the most sense. I donate 5% of the package purchased price to the service member’s current command’s MWR or FRG program.”
Did we mention Your Yeoman is also assembling various monthly giveaways for its deployed service members? “I wanted to be able to send the service member things they could use while they are deployed and iTunes cards are definitely something they can always use. We are working on more and more great things we can do for the service members while they are deployed.”

Your Yeoman is building its vendor discount list so that deployed service members may receive discounts for any shopping that Your Yeoman does for them while deployed. “Norfolk Florist has covered the floral end by offering a 10% discount to our clients, as well as Cow & Crumb, Biker Bum and many more. We are working on incorporating businesses from around the country to join in our cause”.
