New Year Straw Poll Favors Poskevich Over Corker in U.S. Senate Race

Hendersonville, Tennessee, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 12, 2012 -- U.S. Senate Republican Primary candidate Zach Poskevich came away with 85% of the straw-poll votes that were cast during the Tennessee Alliance/Tea Party Statewide Leadership meeting held on January 7-8, 2012, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
“This latest straw poll is very encouraging,” Poskevich said, “because it demonstrates that we cannot simply get close to defeating Bob Corker, but we can defeat him by a respectable margin. Our message of restoring representative government is resonating with Tennesseans.”

The group conducted a straw poll for the presidential and senatorial races on January 7. The results: 85% Zach Poskevich, 11% Undecided, 4% Bob Corker, 0% Brenda Lenard, 0% James Durkan. According to Poskevich, this group of Tennessee leaders represents more than 17,000 politically-active Tennesseans.

“As I travel the state,” Poskevich added, “I see and hear my fellow Tennesseans. I find that they are educating themselves and are beginning to understand the consequences of Bob Corker's actions as a U.S. Senator. There are consequences of confirming liberal judges who reinterpret the Constitution to advance personal or political agendas, such as removing anything Christian from our public schools and public property. There are consequences flowing from the confirmation of presidential appointments like Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve Chairman, and Timothy Giethner, Treasury Secretary—both of whom have played a major role in the devaluation of the dollar and have placed our national sovereignty at risk. More than that,” Poskevich continued, “there are dangerous consequences for this general mindset that ‘government knows best’.”
“Power must be returned to the citizens,” Poskevich said, “so that the government serves the people rather than the other way round. Tennesseans—moral Tennesseans, most of whom believe in God—will elect men and women of integrity for public service.”
Poskevich is employed as a technology consultant. He is married to Lenore, his wife of 11 years. They have a 10-year-old daughter, Reagan, named after President Reagan.
