Newton NJ Art Gallery Presents Artist, Karin Lowney-Seed in a One Woman Show

New Jersey, New Jersey, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) April 12, 2011 -- TraillWorks is pleased to present Karin Lowney-Seed: Recent Works, a one-person exhibit featuring the Sparta artist’s bold paintings. An opening reception cosponsored by “Art Partner” Andre’s Restaurant is slated for Saturday, May 14th from 5 – 8pm. Karin is also TraillWork’s guest artist for Main Street Newton’s Annual Tour of Art, kicking off the same day. The exhibit will run from May 1st through June 25th.

Karin Lowney-Seed is an award-winning fine artist including the “Privia B. Gross Award.” Her paintings are bold, colorful and confident with a keen eye for visual balance. She paints with a sharp narrative style; with often a humorous element that runs throughout her work. If the painting doesn’t make you laugh out-loud it will most definitely provoke a smile. With a keen eye for fashion and trends, Lowney-Seed incorporates the elements of color and pattern into her paintings to keep them current and accessible. Karin is currently expanding her work into several collections, to include sculpture and installation in unison with painting.

Karin holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is an adjunct Professor of Art History and Studio Art at Morris County College in Randolph, New Jersey. Ms. Lowney-Seed has been the featured artist along with many one person shows. Her paintings and sculptures are part of numerous private collections. Lowney-Seed is the owner of My Interior, an interior design business specializing in high-end interior design. My Interior has been recognized and showcased on the cover of numerous national magazine publications.

Currently, Karin is working on several shows for 2011. A joint show with her sister Deb Lowney, a sculptor, opens in Alaska on July 1st of 2011. Her work is on display in the lobby of the Barn Theatre in Montville, NJ, and a painting from her “Coral” series was featured on a book cover by Christopher Meeks. Recently, Karin was featured on TLC (The Learning Channel) where she painted a wedding reception live. “I have traveled through many ways of telling my artistic stories and currently feel I have found the rhythm and clarity for my vision and style. The energy within my new series of “Roses” and “Landscapes” is taking me on a very exciting journey,” says Karin Lowney-Seed.
