NFL - Jerraud Powers Of The Colts Has Surgery.

Indianapolis Colts starting cornerback Jerraud Powers has had surgery today to place a plate and six screws to repair his right forearm, according to a source close to the situation.


Powers broke his arm in Sunday's loss to Dallas.


It is not yet known whether or not powers will be placed on injured reserve or the Indianapolis Colts are holding out hope that he can play again this season.

But he certainly will be unavailable Thursday night in Nashville when the Titans are expected to have available receiver Kenny Britt back in the lineup after a four-game layoff with a hamstring injury.


The team's other starting substances cornerback, Kelvin Hayden missed last week's loss to Dallas with a neck injury. The team said he would not have practiced Monday for the Colts if they was on the field, but they had a day off.


Colts coach Jim Caldwell in Nashville told a media conference call that the team will be issuing a press release about Powers' situation this afternoon.


"We're kind of waiting to see how it goes with the surgery and then we'll make an announcement after that," he said.

Injury-ravaged Colts have lost tight end Dallas Clark and safety Melvin Bullitt for the season, and waiting for the return of running back Joseph Addai, receiver Austin Collie and linebacker Clint Session.
