Nick Nuttall, UNEP Spokesperson to formally open Sustainable Innovation Expo.

London, 13th February 2012 – Climate Action, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, will showcase the latest sustainable technological innovations and services to an international audience of government officials and environmental professionals at the 12th Special Session of the Governing Council Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) of the United Nations Environment Programme on the 20-22nd February in Nairobi, Kenya.

Held annually, the event is organised by UNEP and brings together Environment Ministers and senior representatives from over 160 countries to consult and exchange ideas on the key environmental issues on a national and global level.
The Sustainable Innovation Expo will be formally opened by Nick Nuttall, UNEP Spokesperson on Monday 20th February at 6pm.

The Sustainable Innovation Expo showcases innovative technologies (either currently in use or in development stages) from private sector organisations that can assist governments in greening infrastructures and economies. These include products that mitigate and adapt to climate change, use natural resources more efficiently, harness sustainable energy and reduce pollution.

The Sustainable Innovation Expo stands will feature a range of technologies including: technology to improve the productivity of agriculture whilst reducing environmental impact, portable desalination technology, solar powered water pumping solutions and sustainable energy solutions.

For the organisations involved, this is a unique opportunity to present landmark technology and ideas to a key international audience of Environment Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, NGOs and civil society organisations gathering to consult on crucial environmental issues. These discussions are particularly valuable in the lead up to RIO+20 in June and COP 18 in December 2012.

Participating organisations:

Agrinos AG
AEG Power Solutions
Photon Energy
Lorentz
IDE Technology
Kaneka Corporation
BearingPoint
Sovello AG
