FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Houston, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 15, 2012 -- The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) has recently learned that National Institutes of Health (NIH) scientists have developed a new way to see structures within viruses. The technique is called Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and will allow scientists to see very small particles, like structures on the surface of viruses.

According to a press release put out by the NIH on January 12th, scientists said “Ideally, this technique will allow a better understanding of the inner workings of viruses, providing more opportunities for developing novel therapies.”

The CBCD is encouraged by this development and believes it may help in the center’s research which focuses on the role viruses play in cancer and Dr. Hanan Polansky’s theory of microcompetition.

The current belief in medical research holds that most cancers are caused by exposure to carcinogens, and that carcinogens begin the cancer process by injuring certain genes.

The CBCD, however, holds the view that the cause of most cancers is not a mutated gene. Instead, the cause are viruses which “steal” genetic resources needed by the body’s own genes.

What is the effect of the presence of a virus in the nucleus?

Like all athletes, a gene needs energy. When a virus enters the nucleolus it starts to consume the energy in the nucleus. The result? A starved athlete, and a decrease in yardage during games.

See a more technical description in the European Journal of Cancer paper on pubmed.gov entitled, “Microcompetition and the origin of cancer.”

This discovery was first described by Dr. Hanan Polansky in his highly acclaimed “purple” book, entitled “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease.” The book was published by The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (more on the book, including reviews of leading scientists, see on the publisher’s website at: http://www.cbcd.net/book.htm).

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD, http://www.cbcd.net) is a research center recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit organization. The mission of the CBCD is to advance the research on the biology of chronic diseases, and to accelerate the discovery of treatments for these diseases.

The CBCD published the “Purple” book by Dr. Hanan Polansky. The book presents Dr. Polansky’s highly acclaimed scientific theory on the relationship between the DNA of latent (chronic) viruses and the onset of chronic diseases. Dr. Polansky’s book is available as a free download from the CBCD website.
