Nissan, East Providence news: Earthquake relief

That’s why in the wake of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the whole Nissan community came forward to be of assistance. Thanks to Nissan, East Providence drivers helped us in these efforts and we couldn’t be more pleased.

To start, Nissan sent a provision of 50 vehicles to support aid agencies in the affected areas of Japan. Nissan America then pledged $1 million in support to the American Red Cross relief efforts in affected areas. This monetary support will come from U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Latin American Nissan markets.
In addition to this money, Nissan immediately donated $500,000 in cash. The automaker also began to match, dollar for dollar, total contributions raised by our employees, retirees, dealers, suppliers and customers for up to $500,000. Thanks to employee gift matching as well as global and regional corporate donations, Nissan’s relief donations will total more than $3.75 million in cash and in-kind contributions!
