NJ Calligraphy Studio Announces Spring Class Schedule

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 13, 2012 -- NEWTON- 24 Karat Designs Calligraphy Studio has announce its spring 2012 season of calligraphy classes and the related arts, beginning February 18th. All classes are designed for teen and adult beginner and intermediate level.

“Beginner’s Boot Camp” begins February 18th on Saturday mornings for 8 weeks, from 9:30 to 11:30 am. This is a broad pen italic course, and an excellent starting place for the novice.

“Gorgeous Gothics: The Old English Alphabet” begins February 18th on Saturday afternoons for 8 weeks, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. This alphabet was made popular during the middle ages, and has gained popularity recently in all forms of fine and commercial art.

“Introduction to Copperplate” begins February 20th on Monday nights for 8 weeks, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. This beautiful script style is one of the official hands used by the White House.

“Envelope Addressing and Etiquette” Saturday, June 2, from 9:30 to 3:30 pm. This workshop will focus on the layout of an envelope as a composition, for both formal and casual affairs. Wedding correspondence etiquette will be also covered.

“Decorated Letters” Saturday, June 16, from 9:30 to 3:30 pm. This is a drawing and painting class, which focuses on traditional forms of illustration for the purpose of letter and book page decoration.

“Divine Flourishes” Saturday, June 30, from 9:30 to 3:30 pm. This pointed pen workshop is geared towards decoration of script text as art, focusing on beautiful, natural forms, like flowers, vines and leaf designs.

“The Flourished Name” Saturday, July 14, from 9:30 to 3:30 pm. Students explore the world of Victorian flourished names, and create beautiful art through simple step-by-step instruction.
