Noche Buena menu showcase and competition up at JIB this month

ICHEF is the leading and the biggest culinary school in Mindanao.

“Christmas is a very special day for Filipino families; a time to get together and celebrate amidst a feast of culinary delights carefully prepared to please the palate of the guests,” JIB Foundation Chair Joji Ilagan Bian said.

This year the 3rd JIB Global Skills Showcase will feature a Christmas edition of the best menus for the holiday dinner. The Global Skills Showcase is a bi annual event of all the JIB Schools as a way of thanking the community for their support.

In a continuing effort to share and bring the traditions and spirit of Christmas early in October, ICHEF students will be presenting their new sensational dishes to audiences interested to learn secret ingredients and methods that make a great recipe.

The students will show creative and unique presentations through the “Christmas Around the World Culinary Showcase” . The showcase and competition will feature different festive chicken dishes prepared by ICHEF students. It will focus on mouth watering chicken dishes concocted with Christmas spices and flavorings, set up in attractive plated preparations.

Dabawenyos and other visitors will be treated not only to a culinary showcase and competition, but they will also be treated to an exhibition, tastings and demonstrations. They will also be given tips to successfully creating a culinary dish.

Starting at 10:00 a.m. of October 18, 2010, audiences can view demonstrations that will show them the various methods and techniques in producing these Christmas cuisine.
