NORTH AMERICAN RESCUE, LLC SUPPORTS BEST RANGER COMPETITION 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greer, South Carolina, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) May 10, 2011 -- GREENVILLE, SC – North American Rescue recently supported the 2011 Best Ranger Competition with $20,000.00 worth of tactical medical gear for use during the event. The donated equipment included WALK’s® (Warrior Aid and Litter Kit™) as well as NAR’s award-winning HyFin® Chest Seals and ARS® Needle Decompression Kits.

Started in 1982, the 2011 Lt. Gen. David E. Grange Best Ranger Competition is the 28th anniversary of this grueling competition starring the best soldiers of our United States Army RANGERS! The competition has evolved over the past twenty-seven years from one that was originally created to salute the best Ranger two-man “buddy” team in the Ranger Training Brigade at Fort Benning to where it is today as one of the most physically and mentally demanding competitions around that is open to buddy teams from the entire Dept. of Defense.

Secretary of the Army John McHugh attended events on Sunday as the guest speaker for the closing ceremony, and handed out awards Monday. McHugh noted the competition is unlike any other competition in the world, and it isn’t just physical. "It's really a test of these Soldiers' tactical, mental and technical proficiencies,"McHugh said. “Those are the tools that every successful Soldier and every successful leader has to have on the battlefield…just in qualifying for this competition says that you are one of the best, but by completing it makes you one of our very best.”

Fifty teams began the competition Friday with thirty-one managing to cross the finish line Sunday. The winners of the competition were Sergeant Major Walter Zajkowski and Master Sergeant Eric Turk of U.S. Special Operations Command. Neither are strangers to “holding the pistols” and taking the title of Best Ranger. This is Turk’s second consecutive year as the title holder, and buddy Zajkowski claimed the top spot in 2007.

“We were honored to support the Best Ranger Competition and its elite competitors by providing the equipment needed by today’s soldiers to treat the injuries that threaten their lives in combat situations,” stated North American Rescue’s President, and Retired Lt. Colonel, Samuel D. Wyman III.
