(Free-Press-Release.com) January 4, 2012 -- Extra host Mario Lopez has proposed to his girlfriend of three years, Courtney Mazza.
The 38-year-old Saved By the Bell actor popped the question over New Year's weekend in Ixtapa, Mexico, Us Weekly reports.
'We took a walk alone as the sun was setting,' says Lopez. 'I told Courtney that I wanted the mother of my children to have their last name. She was silent at first from shock, then she leaped for joy and did a little jete!'
'Besides our daughter's birth, this was the best moment of my life!' Mazza, 28, added.

The couple are parents to a two-year-old daughter, Gia.

So we'll see, I hope.'
Mario admitted that he did not have a rehearsed speech and worked on the best way to present the ring to Courtney right before proposing.

'See that's the ring right there. And I'm debating right now, do I do the box like this like - bam! Like they do in The Bachelor, ' he added.
Lopez and Mazza, who met while they were both starring in A Chorus Line on Broadway, plan to wed in Mexico later this year.
In the meantime, Lopez has been outspoken about his hispanic heritage and his desire to raise his daughter with full knowledge of her cultural background.

Lopez who claims to be a committed Catholic, has been married before to actress Ali Landry.The couple tied the knot in 2004 in Mexico after dating for 7 years but two weeks later their marriage was annulled over alleged infidelities committed by Lopez during the relationship
Mario admitted that he cheated on ex-wife Ali Landry at his bachelor party days before their wedding.
'At that point I was not ready to settle down,' he said. 'I wasn't man enough to know how to go about handling it.'
He explained that days after their wedding a horrified Landry confronted him after being shown a photo of him in a compromising position with a woman at his bachelor party.'
