Northern Alberta Development Council Continues Its Return Service Bursary Program
Alberta, AB. The NADC continues its return service bursary program for 2011. Applications are due by April 30, 2011, and can be picked at one of Alberta’s Career Service Centres.

The Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) is a regional council created to promote, foster and advance general development in northern Alberta. They offer non-repayable bursary programs for those who agree to live and work in the north for one year in return for each year of financial support received. This program provides up to $12,000 bursary over two years for the following programs:
• Medical and Dentistry Student Bursary ($12,000 or $24,000 per year for up to 4 years)
• Pharmacy Student Bursary ($6,000 or $12,000 per year for up to 4 years)

• Student Teacher Bursary ($8,000 per year for two years)
If you have lived in Alberta for 12 consecutive months before the start of your program, you plan to live and work in northern after completing your program, and you are no in default of a provincial student loan, you may be eligible for the NADC bursary program.
According to the NADC annual report, in 2009 – 2010 over 150 return service bursaries were offered to Alberta students. Recipients of those bursaries now live and work in northern Alberta after their studies.
