A recent federal law banned air conditioner manufacturers from installing R-22 in units after 2009. Tim Swan of Swan Heating and Air Conditioning (Fort Collins/Loveland, CO) has this suggestion and warning to consumers who own an A/C older than 10 years: “Make sure your air conditioner is in great shape and has enough R-22 Refrigerant before it gets more expensive to operate or before the refrigerant is eventually banned for good,” says Swan.

http://www.swanhomecomfort.com/ This new federal law means that your air conditioner may face some hefty expenses in the future. If your air conditioner is over 10 years old, it probably uses R-22 Refrigerant as its cooling agent. It has been linked directly to ozone depletion and global warming. While it’s not harmful to your health, it could still be costly to you. The federal government will soon outlaw production of R-22 completely, meaning that an A/C that uses it will be useless without it.
The good news is that with regular service to your A/C, it’s possible it may never need additional R-22 Refrigerant again. Regular maintenance can prohibit you’re A/C unit from leaking the refrigerant. The expert technicians that work for Swan conduct a Widget 72 Degrees System Rejuvenation, which is a multi-point inspection of the system. This includes a system cleaning, adjustment, lubrication AND adding R-22 if needed. This is crucial to take care of now before the price of R-22 skyrockets and before it is discontinued all-together.
Swan goes on to say that with regular system rejuvenations in the future, an A/C unit might not ever need additional R-22. To help consumers, Swan is offering a great deal for the next couple of weeks: “Receive your system rejuvenation at nearly half price. Once finished, if you follow the recommendations of my technician, I’ll guarantee your air conditioner won’t break down or leak R-22 this year! If it does—I’ll repair it for FREE! It’s My FIX-IT-FOR-FREE GUARANTEE! I guarantee that your system will keep you cool and not need R-22 again this year, or I’ll fix it for free.”
Swan has technicians working throughout Northern Colorado, including the cities of Denver and metro area, Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and Longmont, to name a few. Keep in mind that the federal government will be eliminating the production of the key refrigerant R-22 in the near future. If your A/C requires this, and it’s no longer available, you will more than likely need to purchase a new system. In addition, with the system rejuvenation that Swan is offering, your unit will run smoother and will last much longer by eliminating costly repairs.
So if you haven’t already, get your A/C system checked and ready to go for the summer. And if you live in Northern Colorado, you would be wise to contact Swan Heating and Air Conditioning and take advantage of their deeply discounted system rejuvenation!
