August 31, 2011

The Texas Financial Group-Fort Worth adds five to renew its focus on recruiting financial representatives and interns.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 31, 2011 -- Amy Stauss has joined Northwestern Mutual, The Texas Financial Group—Fort Worth as Chief Development Officer.

Deanna Stuart and Josh Orr have joined the team as Career Changer Recruiters, and Cara Hughens and Alex Seltzer have recently started as College Intern Recruiters.

“Our mission is to have a positive, long-term impact in our community, and we are demonstrating our commitment to that by actively building a team of people dedicated to relationship-building, growth and excellence. Bringing these five new people into our organization has already made such a difference, and we are excited to renew our focus on recruiting not just new full-time financial representatives but intern producers and leaders as well. Our internship program has been named one of America’s “Top 10 Internships” for fifteen consecutive years according to the 2011 Vault Guide to Top Internships. We are proud to be part of over 150 years of Northwestern Mutual’s legacy,” said Brian Petrando, Managing Partner.

In her role as Chief Development Officer, Stauss leads the recruiting and development teams and oversees the development of full-time and intern financial representatives and leaders.

Stauss is a native Texan, hailing from Harlingen and Temple. She graduated from Greenville College in Greenville, IL with a double major in Music and Business Management. She has spent her professional career within the financial services industry, most recently with Northwestern Mutual in the home office in Milwaukee, WI. She has a baby daughter, Poppy Anne, and enjoys introducing her to the new adventures and experiences each day offers. Amy is also a musician and a writer and fills her spare time with a wide variety of hobbies including cooking, travel and sports.

Stuart has come full circle back to Northwestern Mutual after 25 years. She was a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual right out of college, but found her niche with the company as an office manager for a district office in Wheaton, IL. Deanna is a native of the Chicago area and still calls that “home,” although she has thoroughly adapted to Texas after spending 10 years in Austin and the past six years in the D/FW area. She is very involved in the community, serving on the board of the Mid-Cities Circle of Friends as well as staying actively involved in philanthropic efforts for SafeHaven of Tarrant County. She says her biggest accomplishments are her three adult children, who are the most important people in her life. Deanna enjoys time in her garden, reading, evenings cooking and hanging out with her kids, and time with friends enjoying a glass of wine and listening to great Texas music.

Orr is a Fort Worth native. He spent several years away from the city while finishing his education at the University of North Texas and working with non-profits and church ministry. Josh’s passion to positively impact the Fort Worth community fits very well with the team’s mission statement of “impacting and empowering people one relationship at a time.” Josh is involved in several local and national non-profit organizations, including Young Life and Invisible Children. In his spare time, Josh enjoys live music, reading, local and national politics and being involved in his church.

Hughens is a graduate of Baylor University where she was involved in various on-campus organizations and volunteered in the Waco community. She began her career with Northwestern Mutual as a college intern, and worked for a short time as an administrative assistant to a Northwestern Mutual Financial Representative. She decided that her enthusiasm for helping college students reach their potential, combined with knowledge of Northwestern Mutual’s “Top 10 Internship” opportunity would best be utilized in a recruiting role. In her spare time, Cara enjoys working out, and hanging out with friends and family.

Seltzer spent the past seven years working in higher education. In 2007, he received his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Higher Education Administration from the University of North Texas, where he also worked as the Director of Fraternity/Sorority Life. Alex has spent the last 10 years working with college campuses across the nation in various consulting and volunteer roles. In his spare time, Alex and his wife Ashley enjoy cooking, listening to music, spending time with their pets, and traveling.
