FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Durham, North Carolina, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 17, 2011 -- Raleigh-Durham, NC - A Common Sense Platform for the 21st Century by award-winning best selling author Beverly Eakman has just been released by Midnight Whistler Publishers. The national book launch with book-signing will be held at Northgate Books in Northgate Mall in Durham, NC on January 23, 2011 from 2-4pm.

Eakman, who has appeared on over 750 radio and television interviews, is the author of several previous books, including Walking Targets and Cloning of the American Mind. She says she was asked to write A Common Sense Platform for the 21st Century to give some guidance to constitutionally minded Americans who feel that government has gotten too big, but who lack a political and strategic roadmap for taking effective legislative action. “Strategic political battle cannot be waged on the basis of etiquette; it is necessary to control the thrust and parry of debate by having a clear grasp of one’s objectives, then keeping one step ahead of the naysayers,” she said.

According to Eakman, “the new platform comes as America faces fundamental challenges to both its system of government and economy. A Common-Sense Platform for the 21st Century represents a starting point for true patriots committed to the ideals and principles of the Framers of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. The problems we face today are not so much about Democrats versus Republicans, Liberals versus Conservatives, or left-wingers versus right-wingers. What the nation’s problems boil down to is self-regulation versus regimentation.”

In a mere 120 pages, Eakman lays out a comprehensive legislative agenda and backgrounder that reaches beyond the choir of conservatism and the Tea Party movement into the bedrock of American society.

In his review of A Common Sense Platform for the 21st Century, Henry Lamb of Sovereignty International says, “… the book uses the first chapter to analyze the state of the nation and the reasons for it. Eakman, herself an educator, takes direct aim at the nation's education system for training generations of people to focus on the collective rather than the individual, and on government largesse rather than individual responsibility. This emphasis has taught too many people that freedom is less important than comfort. … From such obvious elements as term limits, earmarks, and control of perks and compensation, to sun-setting every government program to force a periodic evaluation, Eakman has spelled out a people's platform that government must be required to respect.”

“The importance of this book lies in its success in pulling these common sense ideas together into a one-stop political guidebook. The platform itself is well organized, the problems and solutions presented are timely and understandable, and there are a couple of sections that are openly reminiscent of this country’s founding era. These elements are well mixed to make Platform educational, motivational, and even exciting,” commented Carl Strauss of the Durham Tea Party.

A Common Sense Platform for the 21st Century is affordably priced at $ 7.95
