FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 21, 2010 -- (Hillsboro, OR)--In 1539, Friar Marcos de Niza and a band of conquistadors explored what is today Arizona and New Mexico in search of the Seven Cities of Cibola, the Cities of Gold. Jean Sheldon's new book, 'Seven Cities of Greed' (Bast Press, 2010), takes a group of Chicagoans on an adventure to the 'Land of Enchantment' in search of the mythical treasure.

"I lived in New Mexico for 20 years and every area is unique in its beauty and rich history," says the author. "It was a delight to roam around and let my imagination and my characters run wild. 'Seven Cities of Greed', although not a travelogue, describes sites and events from Los Alamos to Zuni land and points in between."

This year celebrates the 400th Anniversary of Santa Fe as a capital city. The journal in Seven Cities of Greed takes place sixty years earlier when the first non-natives explored the New World. Beyond the adventure, Sheldon gives you a glimpse into the history and myth that are part of the mystery of the American Southwest. The protagonists, a group of women of a certain age and a thirty something bodyguard, travel the route first explored by Marcos de Niza. They follow ancient clues and maps unaware of their pursuit by a man who believes he is the Emperor of Cibola.
