Now Available Anytime: 7-Day RESORT VACATIONS for $150?
Who is behind this new trend of the 80% discount on resort accommodations? If available to the general public, is there a catch? Is this a cleverly-repackaged timeshare?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 27, 2009 --
M.O.R Vacations seems to be opening up an entirely new approach to vacationing with its recent unveiling of 5,400 super discounted luxury resort destinations. The heavily discounted rates are available only to it's members -- but is this for real?
Also offered is a very generous $1,000 referral fee paid to any member who refers another into membership. This may help to account for the rather large membership base of approximately 120,000 people worldwide.
M.O.R. stands for Members Only Resorts and is a privately owned company headquartered in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The company was established in 1982 and has been selling memberships non-stop since 1985. The company stresses that it does not operate as a fractional or timeshare membership organization. There are no expensive membership fees, no maintenance fees of any kind and no black-out dates. Weekly specials are available to it's members 52 weeks per year.
The company claims that whether you are a family of 1 or a family of 6, you may choose from an inventory of approximately 5,400 locations worldwide and stay for 7 days starting for $149.95. We found that some resorts may run $199 for the week while some are still higher. It is even possible to stay in a private home with a swimming pool for the same rate.
But can anyone get these "super deals" on their own? Steve Graham, a recent convert of MOR Vacations says, "No." Before he joined, he was searching for an inexpensive way to enjoy a week at the beach in sunny Mexico. His online research took him to the Mayan Palace Resort in Puerto Penasco, Mexico; also known as Rocky Point.
What Mr. Graham found was that by running a search through Google, Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz, the prices for a stay at this 5-star Mexican resort would cost him between $950 and $2,500 for 7 days. When he called the online travel services dept. of MOR Vacations, the agent quoted him a price of $260 for the same condo he just found online for 8 times as much. The agent assured him that all booking details would be handled for him. It turned out to be a fully-furnished 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo with living room and kitchen. Included was a wide balcony offering a panoramic view of the ocean just 100 yards away. Mr. Graham's total cost including taxes: $260 for the 1 week stay.
Was he impressed? Mr. Graham accepted the offer, joined MOR Vacations at the Diamond Level, and arrived at the Mayan Palace Resort with his pre-paid reservation in hand. His experiences from start to finish were videotaped by him and posted on YouTube for anyone to see first hand. Was it everything he was led to believe? Were there any unpleasant surprises? Was it everything MOR Vacations promised? See for yourself by viewing his video documentary online at www.youtube.com/user/tenstar100
