The first of the online courses offered includes recertification courses for Level 1-A Fundamentals and Level 1-B Advanced Fundamentals. The new online courses are offered at a substantial discount to traditional in-class certification programs. The NPDES Training Institute is working now to bring their entire GSWCC recertification program online by June, 2011.

“Georgia’s GSWCC is on the cutting edge of erosion and stormwater control, having developed aggressive education and certification programs for land development professionals working in the construction industry. Construction related personnel involved in design, building, permitting or inspecting of site developments must have NPDES certifications for projects which involve land disturbing activities of one acre or more,” said Luke Owen, founder of the NPDES Training Institute. “With the industry particularly hard hit in these economic times, it was important for us to develop a cost and time-effective solution for those requiring NPDES recertifications.

By logging-on to www.erosiontrainning.com, construction professionals can now renew their certifications from the comfort of their own home or office as time permits; online courses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The erosion and sediment control courses are self-paced; students may log on and log off as often as necessary as there are no time limitations.

Level 1-A and 1-B recertifications may be performed up to 1 year in advance of the card holder’s expiration date and must completed no later than 90 days after the certification card’s expiration date. The online courses have a 4 hour minimum duration, and students may take longer depending on the speed with which they progress through the modules. Courses are delivered both audibly as well as in written form, with illustrations and photographic examples. Online developers were careful to preserve the relaxed and friendly approach that has been the hallmark of the NPDES Institute’s in-class training programs. The new online courses are an expansion of the Institute’s regular courses; the NPDES Training Institute will continue to hold its standard in-classroom schedules for all certifications and recertifications.
