O’Hara Technologies Inc. Introduces Multi-Purpose Lab Coating System – Labcoat M/MX 3-in-1

North American leaders in tablet coating, O’Hara Technologies Inc. introduces a new generation of compact multi-purpose processing equipment for laboratory facilities branded as Labcoat M/MX 3-in-1. Labcoat M/MX 3-in-1 offers unique production flexibility through interchangeable pellet and tablet coating pans, blenders and tray dry oven inserts. Utilizing this multi-purpose equipment allows pharmaceutical facilities performing numerous stages of production with only one piece of equipment. These solutions require much less capital expense and reduce required GMP space, bringing great savings and improving the rates of equipment utilization. This concept expands capabilities of laboratory and R&D facilities allowing them to enlarge their scope of drug development projects.

Labcoat M/MX series equipped with an anti-bearding spray nozzle, built-in peristaltic pump, supply and exhaust fans, and a user-friendly operation panel, which makes it portable and easy to install. A wide range of interchangeable inserts allows variations of production from 0.7 to 10 kg. These systems are built for applying aqueous, solvent or sugar coatings.

An expert technical team will deliver to public demonstration of the LC MX at AAPS 2009 at the O'Hara booth # 1138, allowing attendees to get a hands-on experience with the new technology. The system will also be demonstrated at INTERPHEX NY 2010 (Booth # 2137).

The multi-purpose concept is also being used for processing fine particles and pellets in laboratory fluid bed systems, like FBDG 1 BT. With top spray and Wurster inserts this equipment is used for pellet coating, drying, granulating and pelletting. Latest innovations in fluid bed technology insures reduction in the amount of fines, improves flow ability and homogeneity of the finished product.
