Oakville Real Estate - November 2009 Sales Statistics

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 17, 2009 -- Home sales in Oakville, Ontario in November 2009 were up by a whopping 102 % over November 2008.

Sales in November 2008 were lower due to the downturn in the market with Canada in the throes of an economic recession. Oakville's real estate market began to rebound in April of this year and it continues to be healthy.

Certain price ranges in Oakville are low in inventory and many sellers are receiving multiple offers on their properties. Typically, new listings begin to appear on the market in January as well as listings that did not sell and were removed from the mls over the holiday season.

Economists are cautiously optimistic that most real estate markets in Canada will see improvement in 2010.

Number of Sales November 2009 = 259

Number of Sales November 2008 = 128

The average sale price in November 2009 was $594,494. - up 10% from Nov. 08 average of $538,500.

The median sale price in November 2009 was $450,000. - up 11% from Nov. 08 median of $404,000.

Year To Date 2009 - The average sale price is $525,401.

Year To Date 2009 - The median sale price is $431,250

Year To Date 2009 - The average days on market is 40
