OAKWOOD PREMIER JOY~NOSTALG CENTER MANILA RECEIVES “ENERGY EFFICIENCY AWARD 2011” FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 5, 2012 -- Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila, Philippines and its Director of Engineering, Engr. Rogelio Lampa, were conferred the “Don Emilio Abello Energy Efficiency Awards 2011” by the Department of Energy recently.

Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila, the luxury serviced apartments in the Ortigas Center business district, was cited for its outstanding performance in energy efficiency and conservation and its resulting contribution to the abatement of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change mitigation.

The property generated energy savings of 1,301,403 Liters of Oil Equivalent (LOE) valued at P51.54 million and 2,094,211 kg of avoided CO2 emissions through the efficient management of systems including airconditioning, light and water under the direction of Engr. Lampa, who was named “Outstanding Energy Manager”.

Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila is designed with low emissivity glass walls that reduce the penetration of outside heat by 30%, further enhancing its energy programme results. As a recipient of the award, it establishes its leadership in the promulgation of environment-friendly practices and affirms its commitment to government efforts to increase productivity through improved energy efficiency.

The Don Emilio Abello Energy Efficiency Awards is an industry-based recognition given to agencies and establishments with outstanding performance in energy conservation and efficiency in government, business and industrial sections. It was initiated by then Meralco Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Emilio Abello, who also held the position of Chairman of the Enercon Movement.

The 2011 awards were handed out by Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras of the Department of Energy to Jacinto C. Ng, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila’s owning company, Quantuvis Resources Corporation; “Energy Manager of the Year” Engr. Rogelio Lampa; and Alfred Reyes, owner’s representative in the property.
