Obermayer Partner Shapiro Coauthors Director & Officer Liability Chapter for Renown ABA Treatise

Diamond of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, authored the chapter on Director & Officer Liability in the THIRD EDITION OF BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL LITIGATION IN FEDERAL COURTS, published by the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation and edited by Paul L. Haig.

Shapiro's and Diamond's chapter discusses the substance of director and officer claims, including topics such as the duties of care, loyalty, and disclosure, and the business judgment rule, as well as other issues that arise in director and officer litigation, such as indemnity, insurance, and the attorney-client privilege. They also provide practice aids such as checklists, sample complaints and jury instructions.

The First and Second Editions of this treatise, published in 1998 and 2005, have been widely recognized as an invaluable resource to legal practitioners. The same is expected for the Third Edition in which 34 new chapters have been added and existing chapters have been expanded significantly.

Mathieu J. Shapiro is a partner in Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP's Litigation Department. Shapiro works primarily on complex commercial litigation cases and is known for his strategic and results-oriented approach to litigation.
