’New Wave of Traditional Metal’ band, Oblivion Myth announces new singer and bass player.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 30, 2010 -- Nashville-TN, USA : July 30, 2010 – The internationally renowned heavy metal band, “Oblivion Myth” has ended its search for a new front-man and bass player.

Following the departure of front-man Sammy ‘Sterling’ Whitmill and long time bass player Patrick ‘Doc’ White in early 2010, Oblivion Myth was in a bind with their latest CD in mid-production. The band needed a bass player who possesses intensity and who would complement the complex style of drummer Patrick ‘Patty’ Nickell; they found it in Ryan Blackmon.

Big shoes needed to be filled on the vocal front. Predecessors Andy Freeman (formerly of Fatal Opera with Gar Samuelson of Megadeth) who defined the bands early vocal flavor and recent departee Whitmill’s stage presence were going to be tough to replace. Ray LeGrand, a relatively unknown singer who has mostly worked on independent studio sessions around Nashville was tapped for the job.

The band is hard at work, polishing the new material which will comprise the Nashville quintet’s sophomore release, tentatively entitled, “Into the Valley of Unrest”. Production is said to start up again in September of 2010, with an early 2011 release date anticipated.

Oblivion Myth, who, in addition to LeGrand, Blackmon and Nickell are rounded out by Lead Guitarist Chris Selby and founding member Keith Smith on Lead Guitar and vocals are looking forward to hitting the stage for a few select dates before the new CD is released. The live set is said to include most of the new material and select tracks from Oblivion Myth’s 2008 release “Between Light and Shadow”.
