October 26, 2011 Politics news in Oklahoma City,Oklahoma, United States of America

An online petition calls for Occupy OKC to admit wrong and apologize publicly for creating a harmful environment for participants of the Occupy Wall Street movement and the Oklahoma City community.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 26, 2011 -- After recent reports in local news of "mobocracy" in the park among Occupy OKC participants (Red Dirt Report), and mass desertions, a call has gone up by the Occupy Wall Street movement, the Oklahoma City community, and former and exisitng participants for an apology. An online petition insists Occupy OKC admit breaking faith with the community at large, the Occupy Wall Street movement as a whole, and individual contributors. It calls for an admission that it was wrong, and to correct what it says are harmful practices, attitudes, and policies in its community.

The petition requests that anyone who feels offended, aggrieved, or wants to support Occupy Wall Street's goals without seeing it become harmful or abusive internally, sign the request for apology, to help reconcile and restore everyone to a sense of proper community. You have a choice when signing the petition to display or not display your signature, and whether or not to say why you're signing. If you display your signature, it displays *only* your name and city (it doesn't show your e-mail or address on the web). Anyone may sign.

The petition may be found at this link (copy & paste): http://goo.gl/r27be

I agree w. the Occupy Wall Street movement as a whole, and it's goals, and support them, personally. But many of us feel the Oklahoma City group that started an "occupation" is abusing people. They tried to bind all participants to silence from the start
