Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Launches New Website

After several months of planning and development, the Oceanside Chamber is pleased to announce that its newly designed website has launched. The Chambers site, www.OceansideChamber.com is designed to be a portal for Oceanside community information including business listings, community events, relocation information and more.

“The new website is much more user-friendly than the previous one”, said Marketing Assistant Kierstin Hill, who helped in content development for the site. “Visitors can easily navigate through the sites pages to find Oceanside community events, quality of life information, and much more.”

New features of the site include a revamped “Visit Oceanside” section, more information about local events, as well as quick and easy access to business news stories, local business listings and military resources.

Even prior to the new design, the Chamber’s website traffic had been surging over the past year, with a 63% increase in visits over the previous year. According to analytical information from Google, the most sought after information on the Chamber’s site includes Visitor Information, Event Information and Local Business Listings.

“The most important goal of our website is to help our local economy by driving traffic to our businesses”, said Scott Ashton, Sales & Marketing Director for the Chamber. “Throughout most of the site, there is a ‘Find a Business’ button, that provides our visitors with quick and easy access to our local business directory”, he added.

On the Chamber’s site, every business has its own page on which they can include a detailed description of their products and services, as well as a link to their own website. Since Chambers of Commerce generally have a strong “page rank” on Google, these listings bring strong value to local businesses.

Another benefit of the Chamber’s new layout is targeted advertising opportunities for local businesses. For example, if a business is interested in reaching surfers, they can target their ad to show up on the site’s surfing information page.

The Chamber has also launched a mobile site, branded as “I Love O’Side” in order to provide mobile users easy access to key information such as business listings, events, coupons and news. The mobile site can be accessed at www.OceansideChamber.com/mobile.
