Ocimum Biosolutions Biotracker™ LIMS selected as M. D. Anderson standard for core facility automation

D. Anderson Cancer Center as their standard for the automation of their Research Core Facilities. The first core facility to be automated shall be the Genomics Core Facility.

M. D. Anderson supports a wide range of ongoing research initiatives and labs. It required a LIMS system that was robust enough to support the multiple lab environments and technologies in use today with the flexibility to handle the emerging technologies of tomorrow. M. D. Anderson also required a solution that could integrate to a variety of systems and databases in use today at the institution.

The Biotracker™ LIMS solution’s value-added, out-of-the-box capabilities, its flexibility and extensibility and its fully functional Application Programming Interface (API) satisfied M. D. Anderson’s requirements.

The first scheduled implementation will be addressing both short term (integrity of data, managing genomic expression experiments and automation) and long term (scalability) goals for the Genomics Core Facility. The extensive configurability, exhaustive search capability and wide array of reports that will be provided as a part of this implementation will enable the core facility to automate inventory tracking, support high throughput processing of samples, and facilitate easy analysis of QC data.
