OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF SELIA GROUP’S CORPORATE IDENTITY EXERCISE

SELIA Group (SELIA) successfully launched the SELIA’s Corporate Identity Exercise as well as SELIA Group Sports and Recreation Centre (SEGAR) in an event held for its 600-strong employees nationwide.

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 12, 2010 -- February 4, 2010, Malacca – SELIA Group (SELIA) successfully launched the SELIA’s Corporate Identity Exercise as well as SELIA Group Sports and Recreation Centre (SEGAR) in an event held for its 600-strong employees nationwide. The event was officiated by SELIA Group Chief Executive Officer, Ybhg. Datuk Mohamed Zaini Amran and SELIA top management team.

In an official address to SELIA employees prior to unveiling of the new SELIA logo, Ybhg. Datuk Mohamed Zaini said, “The Corporate Identity exercise is not just ‘a logo change’. The logo is just an Identifier. What constitute as a ‘brand’ are the distinguishing elements such as the quality of our deliverables, how we present ourselves to customers, our strict adherence to deadlines between Selia Group and the rest of the companies.

“When we ‘rebrand’ ourselves, I am actually referring to the total change, or improvement, in our commitment, attitude, professionalism and outlook. What we have been casually doing for the last 20 years may not be relevant anymore in the current time. Selia Group needs to be at par and keep up with the latest technologies. Where necessary, we need to innovate and set new benchmarks for the industry. We must act like leaders rather than simply be ‘followers,’”
he added.

SELIA primary focus for three to six months, starting February 2010, will be on internal branding including training of its employees to ensure standard practice and comprehension of its mission, vision and objectives. The official launch was an internal launch for SELIA employees as a prelude to an extensive Corporate Identity implementation throughout the Group, encompassing trainings, seminars and staff bonding activities.

This will be pursued by revamp of SELIA marketing and advertising approach, sales methodology, customer-service orientation and its external communication and correlation; in keeping with current trends and technology.

The Selia Group new logo portrays the spirit and passion of the employees in propelling the organization towards realizing its vision of becoming a globally renowned builder of excellence that drives growth through quality and innovative success.

The organization’s dynamism and strength is symbolized by the use of capital letters in the name ‘SELIA’.

The red tip on the ‘I’ in ‘SELIA’ symbolizes a strong candle flame. It indicates the commitment and efforts the organization is calling forth in developing quality and innovative solutions towards building a global community of excellence.

The black color represents leadership, class and elegance, while red signifies excitement, energy, strength and passion.


SELIA vision, mission and objectives were further emphasized by an external consultant engaged by SELIA for its employees training. All employees and guests were given a boost of morale and energy as the importance of being ‘leaders’ and having the right attitude towards achieving goals was stressed upon.

SELIA also launched SEGAR – SELIA Group Sports and Recreation Club – whose primary objective is to encourage SELIA employees to build team work and camaraderie through sporting activities. It will initially be funded by SELIA but eventually will be self-sustaining through sale of merchandise and employee monthly contribution. SEGAR intends to organize, amongst others, soccer tournaments, motivational seminars and religious talks on quarterly basis and many more sporting activities.

SELIA Group consists of companies leading in Engineering and Construction, Asset Management, Property Development, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Toll operations and Education in Malaysia. As of 2007 the Group owns more than RM1.5 billion worth of assets with annual turnover of about RM400.00 million a year. At present, the Group employs more than 400 dedicated personnel technical and non-technical with operation offices in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, Sarejevo, Bosnia Herzegovina and India.
