OFW’s Provide Water for Ondoy Victims
Tawag Na Direct, a long distance calling service that caters mostly to OFWs in the US, launched Sagip Kababayan - a mineral water drive for Typhoon Ondoy Victims.

Last September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy hit the Philippines and left alot of Filipinos homeless and scarce in basic necessities. Aside from food and clothing, clean drinking water was badly needed.
In response, Tawag na Direct - a long-distance calling service catering mostly to OFWs in the US, launched “Sagip Kababayan”. For every $100 re-load of minutes they availed, the company donated a box of mineral water to victims. Together with the help of Ace Cargo, over 5,000 bottles were delivered to various relief goods center in Metro Manila. Distribution of these goods went to evacuation centers in severely hit areas such as Marikina, Cainta and Pasig.
