Oh La La I Speak French!
Oh La La I Speak French!
A webisode to learn French, hosted by Nikki Nemzer and Soraya Garré, with the pedagogical advice of Marielle Bruant-Carlson, director of the Alliance Française School of Los Angeles.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 2, 2010 --
The idea of this innovative educational webisode is to help travelers learn French in a fun, entertaining way and thus offer an alternative or a complement to more traditional methods of learning languages like the Rosetta Stone. Miss Nini and Melle Soso, along with their series of sexy and hilarious assistants, allow the viewer to learn French without getting bored.
Each show generally lasts around 10 minutes and includes:
- a little “hello” introduction,
- a theme (“Pronunciation”, “Introductions”) with new vocabulary each time, (a) scene illustration(s) of the lesson taught,
- a little fun conclusion/goodbye sequence.
The vocabulary taught includes both common words used in every day life and more “funky” words such as slang/familiar words, which everybody usually wants to know but hardly ever learns unless one goes abroad and actually gets into “interesting” awkward situations. The vocabulary relevant to the theme of each show will eventually be listed, for reference, on the website along with the full transcript of each show.
Throughout the various episodes of ‘Oh La La I Speak French!’, the viewers will follow the adventures of Nini, Soso & “the boys”. They will get to see those funny characters facing challenges, they will follow their romantic experiences (good and bad!) and will basically see them go through life.
The originality of the show lies in the fact that it is funny, has a non-conventional and dynamic approach to teaching languages and includes the underlying story of two female lead characters and secondary male characters who all have their own quirky personalities! The pedagogical reliability of the program is ensured by the participation of Marielle Bruant-Carlson, Director of the Alliance Française School of Los Angeles, in the project. Marielle’s ‘French for Travelers’ lessons constitute the foundation of ‘Oh La La, I Speak French! – Season 1’. The show itself was written by Soraya Garre, a professional actress recently featured in Little Fockers and who still occasionally teaches privately at the Alliance Française School of Los Angeles. Soraya also did French teaching videos for About.com. She teamed up with another professional actress, linguist and graphic designer, Nikki Nemzer, to create original characters and to produce and direct the show – the first two episodes are now available on www.ohlalaispeakfrench.com.
The next step will be for ‘Oh La La I Speak French!’ to develop its lessons and programs to answer the needs of French learners of all ages and interests, as well as to create an interactive website that will make learning French an even more exciting adventure. This program should be particularly enticing to mobile and e-book users.
The next language program launched by the ‘Oh La La’ team will be in Spanish, then German, and will eventually cover the grounds of as many languages as possible?
