The attached poster is probably about as patriotically correct, responsible and strategically coherent as you get. politicians hate it because it holds their feet to the fire.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 10, 2010 -- Ah, every hand in both chambers is waving the words of patriotism high in the air.
But what happens when you try to hold their feet to the fire on patriotic issues like battling terrorism, creating green jobs, fighting a futile war and freeing America from its dependency on foreign oil? Get out of the way, they're all scrambling for the exits.
Patriotism isn't a matter of degree. Either you have it or you don't. And few, if any, denizens of Capitol Hill will admit
to their total lack of patriotism. But their actions speak louder than their non-verbal responses. Basically, they have the patriotism of a toadstool - and they show it by ignoring constituents, lying about political protocol and grinning maniacally while accepting money from pharmaceutical

and insurance companies and, of course, Big Oil.
Yes, Big Oil is still using tons of cash to control the votes of federal lawmakers. America is sucking the foreign petro-teat to the tune of $200,000 a minute, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Sept. 11, 2001 attacks - fueled by these American oil dollars filtered to terrorists through Al Qaeda - were just the tip of the terror iceberg. While it triggered an uptick in patriotism, it didn't stop politicians from continuing their
slimy task of accepting petro-graft.
Ad man Stan Cotton created the joinfoil.org web site along with anti-terror posters and billboards in the months following 9/11/2001 to reveal the connection between American oil dollars and terrorism and to demand alternative energy

research. The most graphic depiction showed a jet liner on a collision course with a city. Under the wings where the engines normally would be were oil drums.
Cotton has since updated that poster to show a plane with the same oil barrels beneath the wings about to crash into the back of the Statue of Liberty. Perhaps it was too intense an image at the time for citizens who had just endured the trauma of 9/11/2001. But it certainly is appropriate today-eight years later, when citizens have learned that terror plots and death-to-Westerner attacks may well become common.
Cotton contacted 30 members of Congress in hopes they would hang the updated poster in their offices.Thirty emails to Chiefs of Staff's, 30 negative responses.
"With all the politicians talking of terrorism, why wouldn't they support this poster?" he asked. "The poster is probably as patriotically correct, responsible and strategically coherent as you get."

But this poster is not politically correct, said Cotton, also the creator of the patrioticallycorrect.org web site. Hands off, the politicians are saying. "No surprise," Cotton snorted. "Most all congresspersons are beholden to Big Oil interests. U.S. Sen. John McCain, during the 2007-2008 election cycle was able to pick up ($2,402,937.)* from Big Oil with nobody asking questions."
The average congressperson can pick up to $7,556,129 per day from Big Oil. "Now you know why we're sending $200,000 a minute to people that hates us. Now you know why we're sending $200,000 a minute to people to buy airline tickets for people to put bombs in their jock straps. Now you know why we're sending $200,000 a minute to people to kill our kids."
The issue gets no response from the new administration. President Obama has even taken words like "terrorist" and "war" out of the lexicon, replacing them with sugar-coated euphemisms. But there is no euphemism for war, for the bloody, agonizing death of young Americans on the battlefield, the untold billions of petroleum-related dollars funding terror attacks and the mental and physical scars that tens of thousands of our kids will bear for a lifetime.
No, the 9/11 guys couldn't hijack a three-wheel bicycle without funding from oil rich countries using our own money to cause havoc and the death of 3,000 people.
The Nigerian with a bomb in his underwear got the $2,300 cash to buy an airline ticket from Al Qaeda, who got the money from - guess who. Add to that the comment from Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano that when it came to dealing with the Nigerian terrorist who was hauled to the floor by passengers after his pants caught fire, 'the system worked."
No, the system didn't work. It didn't work on 9/11, in the British subway, on the Spanish train line, in the night club in Bali, at the military base at Fort Hood or at any other sites where terrorists killed, maimed and destroyed to further their sick agendas.
"Since this poster explains the absolute necessity for made-in-USA energy in one single glance, why wouldn't you hot-shot congresspersons use it?" Cotton challenged.
"Display this poster or shut up about your concerns and playing politics with Big Oil money. You can criticize all you want with words, but you can't run from the visual truth."
"If you don't support the display of the poster," Cotton said, "we'll start running these ads in your district, directed at the receivers of Big Oil contributions."
