It can go practically anywhere in the backyard – from a stand-alone post to hanging from tree branches and under awnings. Use a mixed seed to provide proper nutrition for the birds; breadcrumbs do not provide the nutrients the birds require. In addition, mix a little bit of sand or grit with the seed to aid the birds’ digestion. If the feeder has a bowl for water, check to ensure it’s not frozen so the birds receive proper hydration.
