One day summit on Automotive R&D Trends 2015 at Chennai to be held in Chennai on February 27, 2012

A one-day conference on Automotive R&D Trends 2015 will be held at Hotel Hilton, Chennai in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

A one-day conference on Automotive R&D Trends 2015 will be held at Hotel Hilton, Chennai in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where a Victorian Automotive Delegation, led by John Conomos AO, the envoy of the Australian Automotive Industry will throw more light about the theme, 'Automotive Technology - Mobility as a System'.
Michael Carter, Consul-Commercial and Trade Commissioner for Australia to South India will grace the occasion. Anjan Das, Executive Director - Technology, Confederation of Indian Industry will welcome the audience, followed by the theme address, delivered by Dr V Sumantran, Conference Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman of Hinduja Automotive Limited. Alejandro Vera Casso, Adviser - Investment and Technology Promotion for Asia Pacific, UNIDO will deliver the special address at 10.20 am. Also special address will be delivered by Carter and Conomos.
Dr R Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India will deliver the inaugural address, followed by the vote of thanks by Dr Sumantran. After the breif break, the first plenary session, titled 'Efficient Components and Systems for Automotives' will start at 11.15 am, where Dr Arun Jaura, Head - EIEC and Vice President - Technology Eaton Corporation and also the session chairman will make the opening remarks.
This will be followe by a series of addresses by Dr Hodgson, Director, Institute for Technology Research and Innovation, Deakin University, Australia; Surinder Choudhari, Chairman and Managing Director, Surin Automotive Private Limited; Prof Ajay Kapoor, Associate Dean - Research, Swinburne University; Sunil Kaul, President and COO, Behr India Limited and mark Trigg, Manager Major Projects Development, The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia and another speaker from Simpson and Co.
Post lunch, the second plenary session, titled 'Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)' will kick-start. The session chariman, Ravi Pandit, Chairman and Group CEO of KPIT Cummins Info Systems will deliver the opening remarks, followed by addresses of Dr Prakash Bharati, Director - India Science Lab and Chief Scientist - India R&D, General Motors Global R&D and Rakesh Verma, Managing Director of Mapmyindia (tentative).
