Upon the heels of Ontario’s Appeals Court ruling against the deceitful and outright deceptive conduct by the Board of Toronto Hydro by their attempt to raise hydro rates and then pass these funds back to the city in the form of dividends to shore up the city's budget problems requires an investigation into the activities of this city owned and run utility.
Any “unlawful restriction” in my opinion was orchestrated when this board approved by a majority of hydro’s board of directors including city councillors but did not include the independent directors who don’t sit on city council and voted to deceitfully increase electricity prices so it could hand over fat payments to cash hungry and fiscally inept City of Toronto.
While our Toronto Hydro officials are studying the court of appeal ruling, the Office of our Provincial Attorney General along with Toronto’s own ethics commissioner should be conducting a forensic audit of the utilities.
Such undeclared conflicts by city councillors who voted without disclosing their obvious conflict of interest in favor of taking public funds from urgent capital spending that was needed to maintain the utilities system of reliability in an attempt to manipulate and shore up the city’s fiscal budget problems was at least unethical and at worst possibly criminal.
When the outgoing Mayor miraculously discovered $104.82 MILLION Dollars of Tax Payers Money Peter CLARKE called for an In-depth External Forensic Audit of Our City’s Finances, Prior to This Year’s Elections. But the request of course fell on deaf ears and was not followed up by the media.
To date No factual proof has been offered up to the public about this out of the hat pot of gold!
Perhaps now with yet another process being a sham our Provinces Attorney General along with the media and others will start demanding an investigation into these recurring processes of shams that unfortunately appear to be prevalent throughout this city’s administration, boards and commissions.
