Operation Baghdad Pups accepts $22,411 Donation at Bark Busters USA’s National Conference

Englewood, Colorado, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 4, 2011 -- As a longtime partner of SPCA International, Bark Busters USA was honored to have Terri Crisp, program manager for Operation Baghdad Pups, as a featured speaker at its 2011 National Conference in Denver this month. The $22,411 check Terri accepted represents a record-breaking private donation of cash and in-kind contributions. And it’s just another example of how Bark Busters and SPCA International have worked together over the years toward a common mission: improving the lives of companion animals around the world.

Operation Baghdad Pups was a program that immediately touched our hearts. Since 2009, 65 of our trainers nationwide have donated free training to these special dogs and soldiers, helping them make the often-difficult transition from war zone to family home.

In 2011, we also launched a fundraising campaign, fueled by the hard work and generosity of our trainers, their clients and countless dog-loving communities nationwide. It was a great honor to have both Terri and Sergeant Major David Dantzler and Iram (brought back to the U.S. from Iraq in February 2009), on hand to accept our $22,411 donation of cash and in-kind services. They were also able to speak about the importance of the Operation Baghdad Pups mission and how David and Iram’s Bark Busters trainer helped them adjust to life away from the war zone.

We look forward to continuing our commitment to the program by offering free evaluations and training to these two- and four-legged heroes, as well as pursuing our own everyday mission of using our natural, dog-friendly training methods to improve relationships between dogs and owners and save companion animals from being returned to shelters or euthanized.
