Opportunities Galore in American Football League in India

Professional American Football league is all going to set foot on Indian soil with the support of the Elite Football League of India (EFLI), its govering body.

Founded and funded by business tycoons and entertainment executives from America and India as well as several sports personalities from America, the EFLI has proposed to introduce American Football American to the Indian market and its large consumer base with the perspective to enable the game to make a niche in the Indian sports. Backed up by Ten Sports for telecast coverage, Government of India and Sports Authority of India, the EFLI is all set to start its debut season in late 2012 in the western Pune.

EFLI founder Sunday Zeller posted on its official website, http://www.efli.com, “The export of American Football League to India creates thousands of jobs in addition to provide a platform for multinational companies to reach country's burgeoning retail market.”

Proposed to start the season with eight teams that will be sold through the process of auction, the EFLI aims to extend its hold in Sri Lanka and Pakistan as well. The league plans to double the tally of participating teams during the second season and four in each subsequent season untill 2022 to make the number 52 as far as teams are concerned. This expansion would mean that the EFLI will successfully consolidate the position of the professional American Football league in Asia.
