Orange High School, located in the city of Orange, Orange County, California, first opened its doors on September 21, 1903. Eighty-six students were enrolled that first year. The curriculum that first year was divided into four general courses of study: Classical, Literary, Scientific, and English. Orange High Schools’ first graduating class consisted of just seven students. Located originally on Dobner Block, Orange High School moved into its new home on Glassell St. and opened its doors on September 4, 1905, with 110 students enrolled. Again, Orange High would relocate to its current location on Shaffer St. on May 15, 1953, with an enrollment of 750 students. Chapman University purchased the old high school campus and moved down from Los Angeles in 1954.
