During lipolyis, triglycerides are reduced to glycerol, and fatty acids. The fatty acids are taken to the mitochondria, or fuel station of the cell, where they are oxidized to create adenosine triphosphate—ATP or energy.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 29, 2010 -- Sources of fuel are typically obtained through dietary intake and include carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and the body has a very set preference on the order in which they will burn the sources for fuel through oxidation. Carbohydrates are favored first for, fats second and proteins last. For fat to be chosen to be burned, a certain environment must be achieved..thats where you come in.

There are methods in which a person can influence which source the body chooses to burn for fuel, creating a more favorable atmosphere for fat oxidation over carbohydrate . Normally, more carbohydrates are consumed so will naturally be more carbs utilized for energy—fat is pushed into the unsightly areas of storage in favor of carbohydrate oxidation. Now, if carbohydrate intake were to be decreased, fat would be pulled out of storage for oxidation, this is furthered by caloric intake decrease, or physical exercise. Since fat is typically stored when an excess amount is present it is important to understand that carbohydrates are not; this means they are simply waiting for the call of energy to jump up to the front lines for oxidation leaving fat festering and filling up your saddle bags in carb heavy circumstances. Limiting carb intake and increasing exercise will counter act fat storage. Fat storage occurs through digesting fats, conversion of fats to fatty acids, and storage in the form of triglycerides. Hormones must signal triglyceride release from adipose tissue in a process called lipolysis. Lipolysis is called for when there is no carb to burn. During lipolyis, triglycerides are reduced to glycerol, and fatty acids. The fatty acids are taken to the mitochondria, or fuel station of the cell, where they are oxidized to create adenosine triphosphate—ATP or energy.
